There are many different types of psychotherapy. I have training and experience in using two broad approaches known as relational and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. I aim to understand people in the context of their current and past relationships, with a specific focus on how certain behaviors or ways of thinking can contribute to problematic experiences. The therapeutic relationship will guide our work as we make positive changes geared to improve the overall quality of your life.

Psychotherapy has been shown to be effective in helping people with a wide range of concerns. I have extensive experience in the successful treatment of mood disorders, depression, and anxiety (including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic, and trauma/PTSD). I also have experience in helping people deal with specific issues related to relationships, bereavement, adolescence, and geriatric adjustment to loss of independence for both the elderly and their caregivers.
